Statistics on Health Establishments providing Inpatient Care

The Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality invites the organizations, institutions and researchers to use the information stored in the Statistics on Health Establishments providing Inpatient Care as a material for the development of their researches and studies.

The Statistics on Health Establishments providing Inpatient Care has been carried out since 1972. During the period 1972-1995 the organization being in charge of making it was the INE (National Statistics Institute), in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs, the Ministry of Defense and the Councils of the autonomous regions. From 1996 the elaboration of the statistic corresponds directly to the Ministry Of Health, Social Services and Equality (MSSSI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and the Councils of the autonomous regions.

Files have been properly made anonymous and contain an identity code in each entry which makes possible to compare the information among years, because the Statistics on Health Establishments providing Inpatient Care is submitted to statistical secret according to the Public Statistic Function Act of May 9th of 1989 which determines that the informant statistical unit cannot be individually identified, as well as the use of these data with statistical purposes.

Note-The amounts corresponding to economic activity are reflected in thousands of pesetas until 2001 and from 2002 in "euros" without decimals

As accompanying documents for the download, the questionnaire and the instruction manual which contain the definitions of each section are offered. The technical documents needed for being able to work with the microdata is included in every one of their respective zip files.
