Health Record of the National Health System (HCDSNS)
It is a system that allows the Autonomous Communities to share relevant clinical information of their citizens so that it is available in electronic support in any autonomous service of the SNS at the request of the citizens.
This system has 3 clear objectives:
- Guarantee quality of care and avoid the repetition of unnecessary procedures,
- Allow citizens and professionals to access clinical information regardless of where it has been generated.
- Guarantee the privacy of the clinical information of the citizens, restricting their consultation to the professionals authorized for it and allowing the patient to know the accesses that have occurred.
With 2 key agents:
- Autonomous Communities: responsible for implementing the technical and functional requirements that allow the communication of content through the EUPS service, facilitating interoperability from their information systems.
- Ministry of Health: coordinator and facilitator so that the AACCs can carry out their objectives. This role is assigned to him in article 56 of the Cohesion and Quality and Law 41/2002, Regulating Patient Autonomy.
